Summary
Based on the flash method, the authors developed a measuring process for the characterization of heat transfer in insulating foams of a density from 10 kg/m3 to several hundred kg/m3. They used a cylindrical sample of insulant inserted between two metal disks and excited it thermally on its upper side with a flash; the temperature changes over time of the lower side are described.
