Summary

A two-dimensional liquid film model of lithium-bromide solution falling along absorber cylinders has been studied to obtain boundary conditions for computing vapour flow in the absorber-evaporator of an absorption chiller. The model was established based on the assumptions that lithium-bromide concentration and temperature profiles in the liquid film obey the third order polynomial expressions. It was indicated that mass flux and absorbed heat on the liquid surface can be calculated with simple numerical computations on the present analytical model. The results calculated showed good agreement with the experimental data.
