Summary

Renal cryoablation is a successful nephron-sparing treatment alternative for selected patients with small renal tumours. Renal cryoablation has been performed via the open or laparoscopic approach. The progress of MRI-technology, development of MRI-compatible devices and interventional MRI have made if possible to achieve rapid improvement in the accuracy and safety of cryotherapy.
