Natural refrigerants within the Montreal protocol framework.

Author(s) : KUIJPERS L. J. M.

Summary

The paper deals with technical advisory efforts. Via Technical Options Committee reports, experts can present the feasibility of options, including those based upon "natural refrigerants", to the Parties to the Montreal Protocol. Via UN Agency guidelines for the conversion projects in developing countries the practical feasibility of the choice for "natural refrigerants" is more concretely dealt with. The second part of the paper presents the efforts by a) the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel and particularly its Technical Options Committee on Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps and b) the World Bank Ozone Operations Resource Group for the period 1989-1995. Section three describes the future efforts, for 1996-1999. Finally there is a summary of the adequacy of the efforts.
