Summary

The paper gives an overview of the current scenario of the Indian refrigeration sector, including the CFC phase-out schedule and possible HFC demand forecasting. The paper discusses the various issues emerging from the current focus to meet the Montreal Protocol CFC phase out using HFCs vis-à-vis the HFC emission regulation under the Kyoto Protocol. It will be a challenging task to contain the growth of HFCs in India considering current practice and future growth.
