Natural ventilation and automation with manual overriding are healthy solutions.

Summary
Dissatisfaction with indoor air quality will be greater if the occupant has no way of influencing it. A proposed building control system modifies window opening shading, temperature and other factors, while allowing the occupants some measure of personal control. The system can provide natural ventilation at night to cool the building mass. Models of this and existing methods show savings in installed and running costs, with a decrease in absenteeism. A.R.T.
