Summary

DESCRIBES A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO INVESTIGATE VARIOUS WAYS OF COLLECTING AND NEUTRALISING LEAKING CFC BASED REFRIGERANTS FROM HEAT PUMPS AND REFRIGERATION PLANTS. ANALYSESADSORPTION ON ACTIVATED CARBON AND CATALYTIC COMBUSTION. STATES THAT FILTRATION THROUGH ACTIVATED CARBON IS ALREADY TECHNICALLY AVAILABLE AS A METHOD BUT REQUIRES BULKY EQUIPMENT. IT IS UNDER RAPID COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT. CATALYTIC COMBUSTION HAS PROMISING POTENTIAL BUT REQUIRES FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND DEVELOPMENT BEFORE ANY PRACTICAL METHOD CAN BE DEVELOPED. (INT. BUILD.
