Summary
The article presents the results of thermodynamic analysis of refrigeration and temperature control during transport, while using various refrigerants. Thermodynamic and economic efficiencies of the refrigerants are estimated and the problem of using a propane-butane mixture in the open cycle of transport refrigeration systems is described, as well as road testing of a low-tonnage refrigerating model. The self-contained refrigerating unit is designed on the basis of a GAZ 3302 lorry equipped with a propane refrigerating unit with liquefied petroleum gas acting both as refrigerant and engine fuel.
