Summary
The paper relates the test results of a sorption heat pump system using CaCl2 and water as working pair. CaCl2 is confined in a new material characterized by mesopores, called MCM-41. Brief comparison of this sorbent with pure silicagel for cooling/heating applications is done. Water sorption isobars, isotherms and isosters were obtained from 8.7 to 50.3 mbar vapour partial pressures and 20 to 150 °C temperatures.
