Summary
The authors have successfully developed a new ETHER type lube oil with low viscosity and excellent R134a miscibility, RE5210, for refrigerators. RE5210 has very good chemical stability when tested with water contamination and air contamination. RE5210 also has very good PET compatability. Lubricity of RE5210 in the 4 ball and FALEX tests is almost the same as that of POE. Compressor tests with RE5210 are in progress.
