New technologies for the treatment of innate and acquired cosmetic defects of children.

Summary

For a long time, physicians considered innate and acquired defects only as a cosmetic problem, and the treatment of defects was executed when a child grew into an adult. The problem of the treatment of innate and acquired defects of children cosmetic defects has become an issue of today. Such defects are mostly capillary angiodisplasia, nevus pigmentosis and scarring. The paper presents the experience of treatment of more than 5000 children with defects. The following methods were elaborated and realized: the method of selective laser photocoagulation, the method of cryogenic and combined treatment taking into account the aspect of defect and degree of functional damage, roentgen endovascular and reconstructive surgery with application of new biomedical technologies. New technologies elaborated give the possibility to treat defects successfully with good functional and cosmetic results. Application of such technologies allows reducing the number of the invalids by giving the society a confident person.
