Summary

DESCRIPTION OF A NEW LABORATORY FOR TESTING PLUG-TYPE REFRIGERATING UNITS SEPARATELY FROM THE REFRIGERATED VEHICLE BODY. THE TEST CHAMBER IS BUILT OF POLYURETHANE PANELS WHICH PARTITION THE CHAMBER INTO A CONDENSER AND EVAPORATOR SECTION WHERE VARIOUS TYPES OF UNITS CAN BE ATTACHED. THE HEATING (TOTAL CAPACITY 15.6 KILOWATTS) METHOD IS USED TO CALCULATE THE REFRIGERATING CAPACITY. METHODS USED TO MEASURE TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE, REFRIGERATING CAPACITY AND HEAT LOAD ARE DESCRIBED.
