NEW TRENDS FOR THE FUTURE LNG PLANTS.

NOUVELLES ORIENTATIONS POUR LES PROCHAINES UNITES DE GNL.

Summary

HIGH CAPACITY LNG PLANTS, WHICH HAVE BEEN OPERATED FOR 25 YEARS, HAVE TO FACE AN ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT VERY SENSITIVE TO VARIATIONS IN ENERGY COST. THE INCREASE IN THE ENERGY COST HAS LED TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF PROCESS EFFICIENCY WHICH IS COUPLED WITH MORE COMPLEXITY AND A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN INVEST-MENT. NOWADAYS, LIQUEFACTION PLANTS HAVE TO: 1) IMPROVE RELIABILITY ANDOPERATION ; 2) REDUCE INVESTMENT ; AND 3) MAINTAIN A LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION. THESE CONDITIONS CAN BE MET BY INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS AND EQUIPMENT OF A LARGER CAPACITY, BETTER RELIABILITY AND LOWER COST.
