NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF CONTAMINANTS DIFFUSION IN TURBULENT TYPE CLEAN ROOM WITH INTERNAL PARTICLE GENERATION AND HEAT SOURCES.

Author(s) : OH M. D.

Summary

NUMERICAL SIMULATION HAS BEEN PERFORMED BY SOLVING THE TURBULENT FLOW EQUATIONS UNDER THE VARIOUS OPERATING CONDITIONS APPROPRIATE FOR CLEAN ROOM ENVIRONMENTS. TWO EXHAUST TYPES WERE CONSIDERED. FLOW FIELD WAS MODELLED AS A TWO-DIMENSIONAL, STEADY, ELLIPTIC FLOW HAVING INTERNAL STRUCTURE SUCH AS WORKING TABLE. THE CALCULATION RESULTS SHOW THAT THE CEILING EXHAUST TYPE NEWLY CONSIDERED IS SUPERIOR TO THE WALL-SIDE EXHAUST TYPE WITHIN THE RANGE OF MODERATE HEAT SOURCE IN TERMS OF ENERGY SAVING FOR FAN POWER AND MAINTAINING CAPABILITIES OF CLEANZONE AND LOW PARTICLE CONCENTRATION AROUND THE WORKING TABLE.
