Summary
A preliminary numerical model of heat and mass transfer in cold storage chamber for carrots has been presented in this paper. The results of numerical simulations (velocity, temperature and relative humidity of air) have been shown and compared with results of measurements taken in a cold room in normal storage conditions. The possible causes of differences between measured and calculated results were widely discussed and directions for further investigations towards achieving improved, more reliable numerical model were formulated. Numerical simulations were performed in ANSYS Fluent 14.5.
