Summary

An experimental ammonia water compression-resorption heat pump has been constructed in the Laboratory for Refrigeration and Indoor Climate Control of the Delft University of Technology and has started its operation. The potential of compression resorption heat pumps is determined by the feasibility of oil-free compressors that operate in the wet vapour region. The design of an oil-free compressor is discussed. The experimental set-up is described and the first preliminary experimental data are given.
