ON THE EVALUATION OF THE OVERALL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT FOR THIN SANDWICH-TYPE WALLS WITH THERMAL BRIDGES. A COMPARISON BETWEEN AVAILABLE CORRELATIONS, NUMERICAL PREDICTIONS AND SOME EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS.

Author(s) : MILANO G., REALE G.

Summary

IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE OVERALL HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF LIGHT INSULATING WALLS, IN PRESENCE OF THERMAL BRIDGES, DIFFERENT FORMULAE CAN BE USED. IN ORDER TO RATIONALIZE THE USE OF THESE FORMULAE, BY EVALUATING THE ACCURACY OF RESULTS UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS OF USE, THE AUTHORS MADE COMPARISONS WITH THE DATA OBTAINED BY A FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD. THEY PRESENT SOME DATA ABOUT PANELS WITH STIFFENING BEAMS MADE OF A LIGHT IRON ALLOY IN PRESENCE OF THERMAL BRIDGES WITH OR WITHOUT INTERPOSITION OF AN INSULATING MATERIAL.
