TRANSIENT THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF LIGHT INSULATING PANELS WITH THERMAL BRIDGES.

Author(s) : MILANO G., GUGLIELMINI G.

Summary

MOST STUDIES ON THE INSULATION OF WALLS WITH THERMAL BRIDGES HAVE BEEN MADE UNDER STATIONARY CONDITIONS WHEREAS IN FACT THE CONDITIONS ARE NON-STATIONARY. THE AUTHORS MADE A THERMAL ANALYSIS, UNDER TRANSIENT CONDITIONS, OF LIGHT INSULATING PANELS WITH CONDUCTING FRAMEWORK AND FACINGS. THEY CONSIDERED DIFFERENT TYPES OF THERMAL BRIDGES AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS ON BOTH SURFACES. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE ORIENTATION OF THERMAL BRIDGES WITH AN INSULATION GAP INRELATION TO THE DIRECTION OF THE DISTURBANCE AND THE VALUES OF THERMAL RESISTANCE ON BOTH FACES HAVE A SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON THE OVERALL INSULATION CHARACTERISTICS UNDER TRANSIENT CONDITIONS.
