Summary

THE OPTICAL CONSTANTS OF H2O CRYODEPOSITS IN THE INFRARED REGION ARE MEASURED AT 180, 150 AND 77 K FOR HEXAGONAL ICE, AND AT 107, 77 AND 14 K FOR AMORPHOUS ICE, BY A NEW EXPERIMENTAL METHOD. THE DATA OF NORMAL REFLECTIVITIES FOR DIFFERENT FILM THICKNESSES ARE ANALYSED BY THE LORENTZ MODEL TO DETERMINE THE DISPERSION PARAMETERS. THE HEMISPHERICAL-TOTAL ABSORPTIVITIES OF THE METAL SURFACES COVERED WITH H2 O CRYODEPOSIT ARE CALCULATED AND THEY SHOW A RAPID INCREASE WITH FILM THICKNESS.
