OPTIMIZATION OF CHILLER PLANT'S ENERGY CONSUMPTION UTILIZING A CENTRAL ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM AND DIRECT DIGITAL CONTROL.
Author(s) : WILLIAMS V. A.
Summary
SOME INTERESTING CONSERVATION OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE ESPECIALLY IF THE BUILDING'S COMPUTERIZED ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM INCLUDES DIRECT DIGITAL CONTROL. THIS SYSTEM CAN READ THE EXACT POSITION OF EACH COOLING COIL CONTROL VALVE AND RESET THE CONTROL POINT OF THE CHILLED WATER SUPPLY TEMPERATURE. IT CAN ALSO MONITOR THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE AT THE END OF THE CHILLED WATER LOOP AND ADJUST THE CHILLED WATER PUMP FLOW. THIS CONTROL POINT CAN ALSO BE RESET ACCORDING TO COOLING COIL VALVE DEMAND.
