Practical considerations in monitoring building energy use.
Author(s) : MCDIARMID M. D.
Summary
The emphasis was on short-term monitoring with portable equipment that is easy to install and remove. This paper describes the process of achieving such goals. Electrical consumption of heating, ventilating, and air conditoning; lighting; receptacles; and mainframe computers was each monitored separately. Lighting on-time periods were monitored in a sample of rooms. Monitored data were also recorded for gas consumption and outdoor temperature, humidity, and solar radiation.
