Optimum working temperature of solar driven refrigeration machines.

Author(s) : POPESCU R., GAVRILIUC R.

Summary

The temperature for the solar panels ranges up to 130 °C, while for the LiBr-H2O absorption machine, the hot water temperature has to reach 70 to 120 °C, so it is necessary to find an optimum working temperature for both. The COP curve has ascendant values when the temperature from the generator increases, while the efficiency of solar collectors decreases with the medium temperature (inlet/outlet of solar collectors). Each element of the system - the refrigerating machine, on the one hand, and the solar panels, on the other hand - is mathematically modelled, in order to determine the relationship between the quality parameters (COP and efficiency, respectively) and the temperature of the driving heat needed by the refrigerating machine. The optimum working temperature provides the highest possible quality parameters for the whole system.
