Summary

An 8-megawatt ammonia heat pump has been installed at the new Oslo Gardermoen Airport in Norway. The heat pump, which holds a refrigerant charge of 2,500 kilogrammes, uses ground water from the large Gardermoen ground water reservoir as its heat source. The ground water is also used to store excess heat during the summer season. The estimated annual energy supply from the heat pump is 4.55 gigawatts hour for heating and 3.9 gigawatts hour for cooling.
