Summary
Output characteristics of the linear compressor play an equivalently important role in the cooling capacity of pulse tube refrigerator (PTR), especially for a hundred-hertz PTR. The connecting tube (CT) between the linear compressor and the cold finger can adjust the installation in different practical applications, and also directly affects the compressor performance. To clarify the influence mechanism of the CT's structure parameters on the output performance of the hundred-hertz linear compressor, the relative quantitative investigation is proposed theoretically and experimentally simultaneously. Also, a simulation model is built as an assist. Based on an existing micro PTR, the effects of the diameter and the length of the CT on the motor efficiency are studied under different operating frequencies. The maximum input power to the linear compressor are involved with the same cooling temperature and cooling power. The effects of the CT impedance changing on the resonance frequency, the motor current, the maximum input power, and the compression efficiency are also be studied. The investigations show a quantitative interaction relationship between the output performance of the linear compressor and the parameters of the CT, which can guide the design linear compressor in the micro PTR for better applications.
