OXYGEN FROM JOINTED PSA AND CRYOGENIC PROCESSES.

Author(s) : TUBERGA A.

Summary

IT IS GENERALLY POSSIBLE TO PRODUCE PURE OXYGEN WITH A VACUUM ADSORBER IN SERIES WITH A PURIFIER. THIS COMBINATION HAS A LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTION THAN CURRENT CRYOGENIC PLANTS, IF THE FIGURE OF MERIT OF THE PURIFIER IS HIGHER THAN THE CHARACTERISTIC VALUE WHICH IS DETERMINED BY THE ADSORBER AND THE CRYOGENIC PLANT OUTPUT, OPERATING IN THE SAME RANGE OF OXYGEN FLOWRATES. THESE VALUES WERE CALCULATED IN THE CASE OF ADSORPTION AND CRYOGENIC AIR SEPARATORS.
