OXYGEN CAN BE PRODUCED IN A SIMPLE WAY BY PRESSURE SWING ADSOR PTION USING VACUUM PUMPS FOR REGENERATION OF THE ADSORBENT. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ECONOMIC PROCESS ARE THE SELECTION OF A QUALIFIED ADSORBENT, THE OPTIMIZATION OF ADSORPTION AND DESORPTION PRESSURES AND THE CAREFUL CHOICE OF THE VACUUM PUMP UNIT. TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION ALL OF THESE IMPORTANT FACTORS IT IS POSSIBLE TO PRODUCE OXYGEN AT A SPECIFIC ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF 0.3 KILOWATTHOUR/KG.
