Summary
Over the past thirty years, the scientific and political communities have faced two geophysical phenomena that are global in scale: ozone depletion and climate change. The paper will provide a status report on the current scientific understanding of these two issues, with special emphasis on how science can help with the decision-related information needs of governments and industry during the coming years.
