Summary

In the pharmaceutical distilled water production industry, compared with the multiple-effect distiller (MED), the vapor compression distiller (VCD) based on heat pump technology has many advantages such as high quality of produced water, low operating costs, small footprint, high degree of automation, but it is still in the stage of digestion and absorption of foreign products in China. Based on the analysis of various domestic and foreign VCD products, a flowchart of VCD was proposed, and a steady mathematical model was set up to analyze performance affected by different parameters, including temperature of the produced water and heat exchange, and the compressor’s adiabatic efficiency. The research results could provide the reference for the optimization of the flowchart and design of VCD products.
