Performance evaluation indexes for quick-freezers.

Author(s) : HUAN Z.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

The idea of evaluating refrigeration equipment and the practical performance evaluation indexes of quick-freezers, namely energy utilisation efficiency, efficiency of airflow patterns, and uniform coefficient of airflow patterns, were suggested to compare the performances and to diagnose existing problems in freezers. Based on the measurements, performance evaluation indexes were applied to performance analysis and improvement of the LSJ1500 spiral quick-freezer; problems encountered with the LSJ1500 spiral quick-freezer were detected and an improved higher performance spiral quick-freezer LSJ1500A was developed. It was demonstrated that the suggested evaluation indices are effective tools in the food refrigeration industry.
