PERFORMANCE OF A TRANSIENT MODEL TO SIMULATE HEAT TRANSFER IN A WATER SOURCE GROUND COUPLED HEAT PUMP USING EXPERIMENTAL DATA.

Author(s) : MOUJAES S. F.

Summary

A DYNAMIC SIMULATION MODEL IS DEVELOPED TO HANDLE THE TRANSIENT RESPONSE OF THE HEAT TRANSFER LOOP COUPLING THE HEAT REJECTION/ABSORPTION OF THE REFRIGERANT SIDE TO THE EARTH. IT SIMULATES THERMAL STORAGE EFFECTS IN THE SOIL AND IN THE WATER. THE WATER LOOP SIDE IS ALSO SIMULATED. THE PAPER PRESENTS THE MODEL AND HOW IT WORKS. ASAMPLE OF DATA FROM AN EXISTING REFRIGERATION SYSTEM WILL BE USED AS THE INPUT FOR THE MODEL. THE MODEL WOULD SHOW THE VARIATION OF THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN THE WATER ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE LOOP. IT CAN ALSO KEEP TRACK OF THE AVERAGE SOIL TEMPERATURE FOR THE WHOLE SOLUTION DOMAIN. THIS IS HELPFUL IN INITIALLY SHOWING THE PROGRAM DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO.
