Summary

By evaluating the Criterion Number of Working Medium, a mixture filled in a pulsating heat pipe was chosen. Then, a heat exchanger made from the pulsating heat pipes was used into an air conditioning system heat recovery unit. The performance of the heat recovery unit was studied experimentally by simulating the system running in summer working conditions. Finally, some impact factors such as inclined angle of the pulsating heat pipes, airflow speed and inlet temperature of evaporating section of the pulsating heat pipes heat exchanger on temperature efficiency of the heat recovery unit were analyzed. The test data show that the temperature efficiency of the heat recovery unit increases with the increase of inlet temperature of evaporating end of the pulsating heat pipes heat exchanger enhancing, and reduces with increasing airflow speed; and the maximum temperature efficiency value was obtained when the inclined angle of pulsating heat pipes is in 60°.
