Performance of counterflow cooling towers with structured packings and maldistributed water flow.
Author(s) : KRANC S. C.
Type of article: Article
Summary
A method is presented for estimating the performance of a counterflow cooling tower packed with a regular fill. The model utilized takes into account initial non-uniformity of irrigation and the redistribution of water flow during interaction with the structured fill. In the analysis, a local, cellular model for the heat and mass transfer has been formulated and a computation scheme has been developed. Solutions have been compared to established model.
