Performance of water-lithium bromide absorption machine operating near zero degrees.

Author(s) : KOJIMA M., FUJITA T., IRIE T., et al.

Summary

This study aims to estimate the performance of the water-lithium bromide absorption machine for producing chilled water or brine near zero degrees. This machine is based on the single effect absorption machine. The refrigeration capacity and the COP are measured under various experimental conditions. It has been shown by this study that the absorption machine using the water-lithium bromide as working fluid can take the lower evaporator temperature near zero degrees. However, mixing absorbent solution with refrigerant causes cycle performance to decrease compared to the case without mixing. The effect of mixing the solution and refrigerant is described in detail.
