Phasing out HCFCs and phasing down HFCS without increasing greenhouse gases emissions.

Number: pap. n. E101

Author(s) : COULOMB D.

Summary

Refrigeration uses are increasing worldwide and environmental challenges are increasing, because of energy consumption and refrigerant emissions. Hydro-chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) are phasing out and the use of high global warming potential (GWP) hydrofluorocarbons will have to decrease. Technical solutions exist, even if they sometimes have drawbacks. The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) launched many actions to help countries to face these challenges.
