Summary
The Tokyo Electric Power Company, has developed a safe, compact and efficient evaporation/condensation system to concentrate photo-effluent. After treatment the waste liquid stream has been reduced to about a tenth of its initial volume. The system uses only about a third of the energy required for a conventional evaporator.
