Physical and chemical stability of hermetic systems using R600a and R290.

Summary

The compability of R600a-materials-components in hermetic systems is found important to be evaluated. The basis of this evaluation is compressor life time tests using R600a, R290 and blends of R600a-R290 and divided on two compressors designs, TL and NL. The conditions of the accelerated life time tests correspond to -5 to 64 deg C and a winding temperature of 145 deg C. After 8000 hours accelerated test all compressors showed acceptable wear characteristics. The overall conclusion is that the life time of hermetic systems using hydrocarbons will be very satisfying.
