Pilot studies of advanced transfer surfaces in absorption units for heat pumps.

Summary

The high investment cost of absorption heat pumps of the falling film type can be efficiently reduced by designing an absorber which allows simultaneous heat and mass transfer with an optimal efficiency. It is concluded that heat and mass transfer are significantly increased on long exchange surfaces; use of turbulence promoters can have either positive or negative effects.
