Type of article: Article

Summary

SHOWS HOW THE THICKNESS OF THE INSULATION AND THE HEAT LOSS OF PIPELINES CAN BE CALCULATED, IF A CERTAIN SURFACE TEMPERATURE HAS TO BE MAINTAINED OR NOT EXCEEDED. AFTER PRESENTING THE BASIC EQUATIONS, THE HEAT TRANSFER AT THE OUTSIDE OF THE INSULATION IS DETERMINED, AND THEN THE REQUIRED INSULATION THICKNESS. FINALLY SHOWS HOW THE HEAT FLOW CAN BE CALCULATED.
