Summary
The specific characteristics of the lubricant, especially refrigerant solubility, are influenced by the chemical structure. Investigations with respect to future applications of carbon dioxide as working fluid were conducted. The objective of the study was to synthesize polyether oils with specific physico-chemical characteristics appropriate for CO2 applications. The outcome showed that modification of the molecular structure of PAG-lubricants can affect solubility and viscosity.
