MEASUREMENTS ARE GIVEN ON POOL BOILING HEAT TRANSFER OF SEVERAL HYDROCARBONS, AT A LOW BOILING POINT, FROM ONE GEWA-TX FINNED TUBE, AT SATURATION PRESSURES BETWEEN 30 AND 3,900 KILOPASCALS. THESE MEASUREMENTS ARE COMPARED TO NEW MEASUREMENTS ON A SMOOTH TUBE. THE RESULTS REVEAL LARGE DIFFERENCES IN THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT VALUE, BETWEEN THE SMOOTH TUBE AND THE GEWA-TX FINNED TUBE, UNDER LOW PRESSURES, BUT IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT THESE DIFFERENCES DECREASE WHEN PRESSURE REACHES 50 % OR MORE OF THE CRITICAL-PRESSURE VALUE.
