PORTION OF THE HEAT DELIVERED BY COMPRESSION AND ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS ORIGINATING FROM THE SURROUNDINGS.

Author(s) : GLASER H.

Summary

A PORTION OF THE HEAT PROVIDED BY A HEAT PUMP AND ENVIRONMENT CAN BE CALCULATED BASING ON AN IDEAL PROCESS, CORRECTED BY ACTUAL BEHAVIOUR, BY EFFICIENCY COEFFICIENTS. THIS PORTION WAS FOUND TO BE NEAR 0.7 FOR THE COMPRESSION HEAT PUMP AND 0.27 FOR THE ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP. THIS SHOWS A SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE IN FAVOUR OF THE ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP. FOR THIS REASON, AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP REQUIRES ONLY A SMALL HEAT ABSORBER COMPARED TO A COMPRESSION HEAT PUMP IN THE CASE OF HEATING OF THE EVAPORATOR BY SOLAR ENERGY.
