Summary

In trials with several controlled atmospheres against Quadraspidiotius perniciosus on stored apples, complete elimination of infestation was achieved by storing infested fruit in regular controlled atmosphere (2.6-3.0% O2 and 2.4-2.5% CO2) or low-oxygen controlled atmosphere (1.5-1.7% O2 and 1.0-1.1% CO2) storage rooms at 1 or 3 deg C for 31-34 weeks, plus an additional week at 20 deg C and 50-60% relative humidity.
