Author(s) : STEPHENS M.
Type of article: Article
Summary
This article presents the UK targets to comply with the Kyoto Protocol by 2010, and how the Climate Change Levy (CCL) and the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme might help to increase energy efficiency. The author reveals that neither addresses power factors and mentions that electric motors, of less than 15kW, and particularly when running on less than full load, cause increased electrical consumption.
