Summary
Renewed attention for ammonia as an environmentally acceptable refrigerant can be counted on, but existing codes and standards are limiting its introduction. Experience has shown that authorities grant licences arbitrarily. The paper cites current Dutch regulations and the main basic regulations to be followed.
