Summary

Precooling curves and correlations are presented for Hayward-variety kiwifruits; the cooling speed is correlated in a air precooling plant at various air speeds and for four types of packaging; raising the air speed from 0.2 m/s (conditions of the storage room) to 3.5 m/s can reduce precooling time by up to 6 times, depending on the type of packaging.
