Prediction and comparison of CO2 subcritical and transcritical refrigeration cycles.

Author(s) : WANG N. H.

Summary

A theoretical model for CO2 cycles of refrigeration in developed and subcritical and transcritical cycles are compared. Comparison of the results shows that a good way to use CO2, for low temperature applications is a cascade system in which the low cycle is subcritical and the high pressure cycle is transcritical, with energy recovery during gas expansion.
