Prediction of evaporation heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of refrigerant mixtures in horizontal tubes.

Author(s) : JUNG D., RADERMACHER R.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

The heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of refrigerant mixtures in horizontal tubes are studied. The examined mixtures contain different percentages of R22, R142b, R123, R152a, R141b. These data are compared to data obtained for pure refrigerants (R12, R22, R32, R152a, R142b, R123, R141b). In the mixtures the volatility is very significant. The cooled fluid is important for the overall heat transfer coefficient (air or liquid). The mechanisms of boiling and evaporation are discussed.
