Author(s) : JAMES K. A., WONG A. K. H., JAMES R. W.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

THE PRESSURE, FLOW AND TEMPERATURE TRANSIENTS WHICH OCCUR IN SIMPLE REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS (INCORPORATING BOTH DRY EXPANSION AND FLOODED EVAPORATORS), WHEN SUBJECTED TO DISTURBANCES ARE DESCRIBED. THE EFFECTS OF OIL IN SUCH SYSTEMS ARE ALSO CONSIDERED. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT SUCH TRANSIENTS HAVE A SIGNIFICANT INFLUENCE ON SYSTEM RELIABILITY AND THAT SYSTEM DESIGN STILL CONTAINS A SIGNIFICANT ELEMENT OF ART AS WELL AS TECHNOLOGY.
