Problems and solutions for the internal logistics of a food factory with a temperature range from -10 to 25 °C: a case study.

Author(s) : SCHULZE L.

Summary

A factory for the production of sausages manufactures sausages which are sliced and packaged for the customer. The sausages require a maturation period of two weeks. The transport system which allows for the flow of material between the production areas has to be operational within a temperature range from -10 to 25 °C. The material flow between the various treatments is realised by an AGV- system. The use of such a system, which operates under changing climatic conditions, means highest requirements for planning, realisation and operation.
