Summary

Details are given of the metallurgical treatment of shape memory alloy (SMA) springs manufactured from copper-zinc-aluminium-nickel alloys. The effect of heat treatment temperature and the interval between quenching and the commencement of annealing on the triggering temperature of the Thermomarker is discussed and illustrated. Some production results are also given. G.R.S.
